THE SPULLENMEN

The water wheel is a kind of Ferris wheel with buckets instead of gondolas. A tap hangs above the wheel, filling the top bucket. This adds weight and sets the wheel in motion. The next bucket hangs under the tap, also fills up, and so the wheel gains more and more speed. However, the buckets also have a hole at the bottom through which they slowly empty again. What happens depends on how far the tap is turned on.
